Excellent view facing Lago Argentino, exquisite hotel architecture.
Staff can be more helpful and the jacuzzi bath in our room (305) was not working.
Large bedroom and bed, good location for visiting the glaciers. Friendly staff.
Some of the fittings were a bit cheap for this class of hotel. Asked for a lake view on our booking months before we stayed. Can´t know for sure but looks like Booked.net clients don´t get the highest priority with this hotel.
The service and amenities. The location over looking the lake was great. We had a lake side room which was wonderful. All went as planned.
+ Stylish, nicely decorated hotel + incredible view over Lago Argentino + restaurant open non-stop and with beautiful view over the lake + swimming-pool and spa-area with sauna and fitness (everything clean) + hotel offers shuttle service to go down-town + location (far from the city center, too far too walk) is not a problem, as all organized tours / agencies will pick you up and bring you back directly to the hotel; the location itself is great! + wifi / internet for free and working in the rooms
- Pool and spa-area where over-heated; windows had to be opened in order to cool-down, which in turn led to a air-current... - if you're on the sea-side: the room heats up to incredible temperature (like a sauna), difficult to cool it down, as the air-conditioning did not work; had to open the window, but night-temperatures are super cold, so impossible to sleep with open window... - only basic breakfast, not worth a 4-star-hotel-breakfast - hotel offered shuttle service for down-town only from 6pm onward, before you need a taxi
The hotel is very good, very comfortable, attentive staff and wonderful view. As the distance is from the city center (30 pesos taxi), only worth it if you stay in a suite facing the lake. Positive points for the view at the heated pool (just to throw pool water in glasses!) and drink peach! Negative points for the price of lunch box they charge. If you are visiting the perito moreno set it up and make yours before. We had problems with internet connection during the one week that we were staying, but we ask discount and they received on their lunch pails. I'd say it was too little for an internet addict. Other than that, I've walk very much in the city and did not find a nicer hotel on the outside and even inside in my pre searches. It is worthwhile, however phone before to confirm that the internet is stable.
Our experience in the hotel was great. Starting with the team that was polite and accomodating, thru the room facilities, the view from the windows, the complete silence. Cleanliness. El calafate is a special place, and the hotel fits in.
Location - peaceful and very good views. Swimming pool had the temperature of a giant spa, but the spa jets did not work. Ate one evening meal in the restaurant; very good food and price reasonable. Staff generally very helpful. Evening shuttle bus excellent and very necessary due to hotel's remote location.
Being in a remote location, access to town was difficult during the day. Shuttle bus should run regularly during the day or on-demand. Choice of breakfast dishes poor and quality was generally not good. Maybe it's ok for maximun 3-night stay - we were there 5. Sound insulation between rooms poor - we were woken at 5am by voices from an adjacent room.
The suites, the decoration, the swimming pool even if it was too hot, the view on the lake
Difficult to find the hotel
Perfect view of lago Argentino, one of the most comfortable, hospitable and beautiful hotels among in hotels we stayed in Argentina.
The hotel is a little bit far from El Calafate centre.
I have traveled extensively in Latin America and around the world. The service at this hotel is among the worst I have ever experienced, especially for a supposed four-star hotel. Very rude and unhelpful staff who were indifferent to any of our requests (such as trying to get a taxi to the airport when the one we booked still hadn't arrived).
A beautiful Hotel The view from the luxe room is amazing Choose them if you stay more than one night; it is worth it !!!! Staff is helpful
Nothing Quite to difficult to find, not at the center of the city
Has a cool name and good pics on the site when booking.
Service is terrible.
We stayed in the hotel for three nights in February 2013. One night of which was my partner's Birthday. The hotel had breathtaking views over lago Argentino with floor to celing windows in our room which was fantastic. The pool and facilities were great, especially after our day of mini-trekking on Perito Moreno glacier.
The lack of air conditioning in our room was annoying. The room was way over 33 degrees during our first night. We had to ask for an air contioning unit after our first uncomfortably hot night. The food evening meal we had was not greatly executed and the background music did not add to the ambience. Felt it could have been far better to complement those fabulous views. I was disapponted with these aspects not delivering as I had booked the hotel for a Birthday treat
The breakfast provided is a little sparse.
Location is great, but if you don't have your own transport it may not be the ideal place as a base to explore Calafate - evening shuttles available though. The hotel looks and feels good. Room large. Staff friendly and food good. Pool etc facilities fantastic.
